Stanfield VideoModeling® / Social and Life Skills
“Manners for persons with developmental disabilities are not routinely acquired, they have to be explicitly taught. The Mind Your Manners series is an excellent step in that direction!”
—Steven Reiss, OH
“Wonderful program. Never before have I presented an instructional video that has had so much immediate impact. My students really ‘got’ the concept that how others evaluate us is greatly dependent on how we ‘present’ ourselves.”
—Kathleen Redmond, CA

Teach Skills that Last a Lifetime! The experts have identified transitional skills that are the most critical to cope with the demands of everyday life. And that’s the focus of LifeSmart – teaching the “top 10” core skills in areas crucial to life adjustment. But instead of being dull and ordinary, we’ve made the learning fun through video modeling – with humorous “how to” and “how not to” video modeled examples that grab and keep a student’s attention.

Teach your students the elements of making a good first impression. There are four basic things that make an immediate impression on someone else: hygiene, grooming, dress, and attitude. The wrong impression in any ofthese areas may cause your students to be undervalued and dismissed. With the right impression, they’ll be given a chance to prove themselves.

After meeting “The Housemate from Hell,” your students will learn Cooperative Living Skills.

Teach your students basic social skills necessary for acceptance. Students will be encouraged to find social success and acceptance through proper social behavior with the everyday situations portrayed through video modeling in Mind Your Manners. Your student will learn the specific rules of the road for interacting appropriately with others, and will “see” that the essence of good manners is based on concern and thoughtfulness toward others. This concept is applied to occasions such as at school, in public, during greetings, and when conversing with others.
